Daylilies are not true lilies, like an Easter or Tiger lily. They are called daylilies because their bloom resembles a true lily and lasts a single day on the stem.
Fortunately, they throw out a lot of blooms on one stem or a lot of stems with one bloom, depending on the variety.
Landscaped buildings and offices often use a daylily called Stella D’Oro. It is a yellow variety and it works well next to buildings because of its long bloom period and easy care.
