German Bearded Iris are easy to grow and don’t take up a lot of space. Other iris varieties, such as Siberian iris and Japanese iris, are also easy to grow, but have less spectacular blooms (opinions vary on this, and I respect that) and take up a lot more space.
Iris resent shade of any sort. They also resent nearby traffic and overcrowding (give them their space, please).
Iris leaves look like blades of grass on steroids, which is why they are best placed at the border’s edge, next to the lawn, driveway, sidewalk or porch.
